Saudi Arabia's PetroRabigh Starts Maintenance Program for Polyethylene Plants

Saudi Arabia's Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical Co. (2380.SA) has started 杂质泵its 50-day maintenance program for polyethylene plants after a shut-down that started Oct. 11, according to sourc电烙铁es with knowledge of the schedule.

PetroRabigh, a joint venture between the Saudi Arabian Oil Company and Japan's Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd., said last week that the shut-down would result in fourth-quarter gross profits falling by $240 million.

The two main polyethylene units at the complex are a 600,000 ton a year linear low density polyethylene plant and a 300,000 ton a year high density polyethylene (HDPE) line.
